Stuck in Identity Crisis
February 5, 2023 • 1 Corinthians 1:1–9
Have you ever found yourself caught between wanting the things of God but at the same time still wanting the desires of your own heart? This is a sign of a divided heart, and every follower of Christ has experienced it. It would be strange if you hadn’t. All followers of Christ, in many ways, experience an identity crisis. The choice between an identity of self or identity in Christ. The process of transforming our identity is what the Bible refers to as sanctification and is the process all followers of Christ go through to become remade in His image. A problem arises, however, when we get stuck between both identities, never grabbing ahold of one or the other. If you’re interested in finding out how we get unstuck and continue on the process of transformation, then join us for this message, Stuck in Identity Crisis, as we begin our new series in 1 Corinthians, House Divided.

Have you ever made a decision or acted on information you thought was wise, only to find out later it was incredibly foolish? Typically, when this occurs, we discover how stupid our decision or actions were by reaping the painful consequences of the experience. It’s easy to be fooled into thinking we’re wiser than we really are. As human beings, we’re great at letting our pride outweigh the truth of our contexts, and when that occurs, the consequences never end well. If you’re tired of relying on your wisdom, join us for today’s message, Perfect Wisdom, and discover how to grab hold of it.
